Appraisal Service
Please check with your homeowners or renters insurance to determine if they will accept written appraisals. I use Allstate and they allowed me to attach a rider to my policy. I had my collection appraised by someone else, for obvious reasons. I included a photo of each purse.
I will provide professional letterhead, and a statement of expertise, with each appraisal. For a single appraisal of current market value and a description of the historical context of one purse, the cost is $15. I can usually appraise four purses per hour, at a cost of $40 per hour. It is a good idea to obtain an appraisal when you send a purse in for repair, as the value will increase after restoration.
